You'll like it even ifyou don't and may decide you need one. Mary and her husband Jim had a dog, Lucky. Lucky was a realcharacter. Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for a weekend visit theywould warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because Luckywould help himself to whatever struck his fancy. Inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing.Mary or Jim would go to Lucky's toy box in the basement and there the treasurewould be, amid all of Lucky's favorite toys. Lucky always stashed his finds in his toybox and he was very particular that his toys stay in the box. It happened that Mary found out she had breast cancer. Somethingtold her she was going to die of this disease, she was just sure it wasfatal. She scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders. The night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled withLucky. A thought struck her...what would happen to Lucky? Although thethree-year-old dog liked Jim, he was Mary's dog through and through. If I die, Lucky will be abandoned, Mary thought. He won't understand thatI didn't want to leave him. The thought made her sadder than thinkingof her own death. The double mastectomy was harder on Mary than her doctors hadanticipated and Mary was hospitalized for over two weeks. Jim took Lucky forhis evening walk faithfully, but the little dog just drooped, whining andmiserable. Finally the day came for Mary to leave the hospital. When shearrived home, Mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up thesteps to her bedroom. Jim made his wife comfortable on the couch andleft her to nap. Lucky stood watching Mary but he didn't come to her when she called. It made Mary sad but sleep soon overcame her and she dozed. When Marywoke for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong. She couldn'tmove her head and her body felt heavy and hot. But panic soon gave way tolaughter when Mary realized the problem. She was covered, literallyblanketed, with every treasure Lucky owned! While she had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to thebasement bringing his beloved mistress all his favorite things inlife. He had covered her with his love. Mary forgot about dying. Instead she and Lucky began living again, walking further and further together every night. It's been 12 years now and Mary is still cancer-free. Lucky? Hestill steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but Mary remainshis greatest treasure. Live everyday to the fullest. Remember it is a blessing from God. "The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones withthe most credentials, the most money, or the most awards, they are the ones that care." "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' type='text'>Alex is so brave...

<div align="center">Oh my you should have seen Alex last night...wohooo she killed a teenage raccoon...well our human mom said it was a teenage one...I know it was mean and Alex is so brave...Halo and I run and cheer her on...you see you have to kill wild critters that come to the farm...they do lots of bad things...they destroy the farmers corn and destroy mom's storage shed...being on a farm is so different I guess then in the city...Mom has gotten used to this kind of life but she says some critters she has more trouble with us killing like bunnies but dad is glad cause they eat his garden...mice, moles and possums are the other things that we get...but ONLY Alex kills raccoons...that's because she is fast, brave and knows what she is doing...she learned from a long line of Brave dogs...you see Dad Jeff had a dog named Chandi when mom and he met and Chandi taught Mony (who was the first rescue pei) and then Mony raised Alex as someone just dumped Alex off at a Sand Pit and our Human Dad Jeff found her and brought her to the farm...now Alex teaches us not to leave the farm and how to do "farm" things...she is so smart and she is Halo and my hero...but back to that raccoon...we left it by the mailbox to show mom...needless to say mom didn't get too excited when we went to check the mail this morning...she told us we were good girls but you could tell in her voice she wanted to say ewwwwwwwwww....and I begged her to take a picture so I could show the city dogs about dead raccoons but she assured me that just writing was enough...awww well she can be a real poop sometimes...love el </div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' Iowa...finally my human mom has allowed me to blog...I have been begging for a blog... as Bella has a blog...Zach has a blog...now why not me...I tell you that Bella has way too much energy...did you see the toilet paper thing she does...OH MY takes way too much energy...one of my bestfriends here on the farm Halo has energy like that...now my old bud Alex who lived here first is more like me...however she is brave she can kill raccoons and swims in the kiddy pool my human mom and dad (sherry and jeff) gave her...I drink out of it...but ewwwww why on earth would anyone want to swim in it...and then there is Halo...oh my she looks for every mud hole around...mom hates that and makes her go back outside til she is dry...now me...i'm a scooby snack kind of girl...mom and I check the mail which is a longggggg ways and then it's a nap...my boy Matti joined what mom calls the army...not sure what the army is but he is gone and mom has taken over feeding us...which has always been his chore (now THIS is a good thing as we eat much earlier)...so today mom took our pictures to send to him so he doesn't forget us...HOW could he forget us...and she even took a picture of that horrid bird murph that doesn't yell Matttttttttttttiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii any more...wohoo that's one good thing about our boy being gone...so here is my animal family Alex is black...of course I'm the wrinkle girl and Halo...she is the fuzzy one...ewww she isn't fuzzy right now dad gave her a hair cut...mom says she needs to fix her...I would say so...if he comes towards me with those clipper things I'M OUT OF HERE....you will notice that Alex is cleaning my eye...she and Halo take turns...it's a hard life having so many wrinkles and it keeps mom away from me with a rag...you gotta have buddies to watch your back that's forsure...then you will see Halo with our girl...that is the human's grandchild...she is like Halo and Bella...wohoo she would like the toilet paper too I'm guessing if mom didn't stay after her...I keep my distance but Halo loves her and steals food...the human child does share her treats but she make me tired...of course that picture is before dad gave Halo THAT hair cut...OH My</div><div align="center">I hope mom lets me post as I have so much to tell you about living on a farm...</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img
